Establishment of the unique accreditation body in European countries
Since January 1, 2010 an EC Regulation 765/2008 was approved which provides for the establishment of a single ACCREDITATION entityin each EU country,
whose task is to monitor the correct operation of certification bodies, inspection and Laboratories under the coordination of EA (European Co-operation for Accreditation), which maintains its central role for the activities of various national bodies under the agreements signed by the same mutual recognition.
Under those agreements, certification of management systems, product, personnel and inspection reports, test and calibration certificates issued under its accreditation are recognized and accepted in all countries whose national accreditation bodies are members of EA, the IAF (International Accreditation Forum) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
For Italy, the single body will credit (heir to the old Sincert) that will work under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development, as identified by the decrees of National Authority for accreditation activities in Italy and point of contact with the European Commission.
Remains valid on the pact of mutual recognition signed by all organisms’ subscribers. Multilateral EA pacts confirm the validity and recognition of all certifications issued by the underwriters.
With regard to the reality of the operational group for the two organizations that concern us closely are the French COFRAC and the Italian ACCREDIA.
